On this page we have tried to anticipate questions in order to simplify the process as much as possible.

Under the competition tab one can find a list of all the various competitions. They are divided into the following groups:

General Exhibits – Art, crafts, quilts, wood working, horticulture, preserved foods, baked foods,…

Cooking

Gospel Singing

Livestock – Cattle, goats, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbit, llama, display livestock….

Clogging

In the above sections you can find printable rules and regulation specific to a show. Please note that there are also over-all Fair rules and regulations as well as Division/Department rules and regulations. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to read over all Rules and Regulation sections and adhere to them completely.

How the entries are placed in the computer during online entries will determine who the premiums are paid to. If the project is done at school and the premiums are to be paid to the school, the school must be listed with the school’s W-9 on the child’s entry. This can get confusing for sure. There is also a difference between livestock entries and other non-livestock entries. We will try to walk you through both. If you run into questions, please call us at 828-687-1414 ext. 210 or 208.

Please choose which scenario fits your situation:

I want to enter the clogging as a team or individual

Clogging entries cannot be entered online. Please go to clogging link to print out the needed forms and W-9 to enter and pay. Note that the fees change depending on when the entry form is received by the fair office!

Livestock:

One question that has come up is with a few project shows we have where the FFA groups or 4-H groups are recognized for group awards, who gets the premiums? If the school is paying the entry fees and the animals are housed at school, the school should get the premiums. If the students’ parents are paying the entry fee and the animals are being housed at the student’s home, the student should receive the premiums. Please note that if a student is to be part of an FFA or 4-H Club during a competition, this should be noted on the entry information for the online entry.

I have my own livestock I would like to show – Cattle, goat, sheep, poultry, rabbit, llama…

My child has livestock that he/she would like to show – Cattle, goat, sheep, poultry, rabbit, llama…

I want to enter my family's entries for show - cattle, goats, sheep, poultry, rabbit, llama....

I am a teacher and have livestock that my students will be showing and the premiums should be paid back to the school.

Our club has livestock for our members to show; premiums should be paid to the club
